History

Announced in October 2008 and released in November of the same year, the MacBook Air (Late 2008) did not feature processor speeds higher than the previous model. However, it improved performance thanks to a faster 1066 MHz bus, a larger 6 MB integrated L2 cache, and a faster graphics chipset. Additionally, the micro-DVI port was replaced by the new Mini DisplayPort, capable of supporting larger external displays (2560x1600). The MacBook Air (Late 2008) was released in two configurations: 1.6 GHz/2 GB RAM/120 GB hard drive/$1799 USD and 1.86 GHz/2 GB RAM/128 GB solid state drive/$2499 USD.
