The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were presented on September 9, 2015 during a press event called "Hey Siri, give us a hint." at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, a 7,000-seat venue located in San Francisco. The hardware design of the iPhone 6s is practically identical to that of the iPhone 6, although the chassis is now made of more resistant aluminum, previously used by the Apple Watch Sport to improve its structural rigidity. It is available in gold, silver, space gray, and, as a new addition for the 6s model, rose gold. The iPhone 6s is powered by the Apple A9 system on a chip processor, which, according to the company, is up to 70% faster than the Apple A8 and offers 90% superior graphics performance. The iPhone 6s features 2 GB of RAM, a quantity greater than any previous iPhone, and also supports LTE Advanced. Although battery capacities are slightly lower, Apple states that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus possess the same average battery life compared to their respective predecessors. The iPhone 6s integrates technology called 3D Touch; sensors are incorporated in the layer behind the display and measure the pressure of the user's tactile input through the distance between it and the glass, allowing the device to distinguish between normal and firmer touches. 3D Touch is paired with the Taptic Engine vibrator in order to provide the corresponding haptic feedback. The iPhone 6s is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera, an improvement over the 8-megapixel unit of previous models, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera. It also enables 4K video recording, as well as 1080p at 60 frames per second. The "Retina Flash" feature of the camera app allows you to use the display brightness as an improvised flash for images captured with the front camera, while "Live Photos" captures a short video along with every photo taken.
