History

In September 2010, Steve Jobs announced a second-generation version of the Apple TV. About one quarter the size and one third the price of the original Apple TV, the new device is capable of streaming rented content from iTunes and video from computers or iOS devices via AirPlay. The new version does not have an internal hard drive and therefore retrieves content from online sources or locally connected devices.
