History

The iMac (Mid 2007) represented, from a technical standpoint, a simple performance upgrade compared to the iMac (Late 2006), however it included a complete redesign of the case design. Announced in August 2007, the iMac (Mid 2007) was characterized by an innovative aluminum enclosure design that clearly drew inspiration from the recently launched iPhone. The iMac (Mid 2007) was also equipped with a new extremely thin aluminum keyboard. The model was distributed in three configurations: 20"/2.0 GHz/1 GB of RAM/250 GB HD/128 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1199 USD, 20"/2.4 GHz/1 GB of RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1499 USD, and 24"/2.4 GHz/1 GB of RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1799 USD. A high-end BTO model was also available, equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme processor at 2.8 GHz and a 500 GB hard drive, at the price of $2299 USD.
