History

Introduced and supplied together with the Macintosh Plus in 1986, it was an extended keyboard equipped with an integrated numeric keypad. In 1987 it was updated to Apple's new Platinum gray color. It continued to use the telephone cable-style connector to the CPU and was interchangeable with the M0110. Although Apple had already converted all other keyboards to Apple Desktop Bus connectors by that time, this keyboard was produced without modifications until the discontinuation of the Plus in 1990.

• The Apple D225 keyboard, introduced in 1986 with the Macintosh Plus, was the first to include an integrated numeric keypad and represented an important step toward the standardization of Apple peripherals. • In 1987 the D225 was updated to Apple's new Platinum Gray color, becoming the iconic keyboard that visually characterized the Macintosh computers of that generation. • Despite Apple having already adopted the Apple Desktop Bus connector for all other keyboards, the D225 continued to use the telephone cord connector until the discontinuation of the Macintosh Plus in 1990, remaining virtually unchanged for four years.
