History

The iMac (Mid 2007) represented from a technical standpoint a simple performance increment compared to the iMac (Late 2006), however it included a complete redesign of the external enclosure. Announced in August 2007, the iMac (Mid 2007) featured an innovative aluminum chassis design that clearly drew stylistic references from the iPhone, recently launched on the market. The iMac (Mid 2007) also included a new extremely thin aluminum keyboard. The iMac (Mid 2007) was available in three configurations: 20"/2.0 GHz/1 GB RAM/250 GB HD/128 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1199 USA, 20"/2.4 GHz/1 GB RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1499 USA and 24"/2.4 GHz/1 GB RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1799 USA. A high-end BTO model was also available, equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme processor at 2.8 GHz and a 500 GB hard drive, at the price of $2299 USA.
