Introduced in July 2010, the iMac (Mid 2010) models represented essentially incremental updates to the previous iMac (Late 2009) line. The iMac (Mid 2010) was available in four configurations: 21.5"/3.06 GHz i3/4 GB RAM/500 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/$1199 USA, 21.5"/3.2 GHz i3/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/512 MB VRAM/$1499 USA, 27"/3.2 GHz i3/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/512 MB VRAM/$1699 USA, 27"/2.8 GHz i5/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/1 GB VRAM/$1999 USA. Custom order options included up to 16 GB of RAM, 3.6 GHz Core i5 processors or quad-core Core i7 processors at 2.93 GHz, a 2 TB hard drive, and a 256 GB SSD.

• The iMac Mid 2010 represents one of the first Apple models to use Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, marking the transition toward more energy-efficient processors compared to the previous generation. • The 27-inch model launched in July 2010 was available with a quad-core Core i7 processor at 2.93 GHz as a custom configuration option, making it one of Apple's most powerful desktop computers at that time. • For the first time in this line, users could configure the iMac with a 256 GB SSD unit, anticipating the trend toward solid-state storage that would become standard in the following years.
