History

Internally, the iMac (Mid 2007) was simply a speed increase over the iMac (Late 2006), but it also included a complete case redesign. Announced in August 2007, the iMac (Mid 2007) featured a new and striking aluminum design that clearly referenced the newly launched iPhone. The iMac (Mid 2007) also included a new extremely thin aluminum keyboard. The iMac (Mid 2007) was marketed in three configurations: 20"/2.0 GHz/1 GB RAM/250 GB HD/128 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1199 USA, 20"/2.4 GHz/1 GB RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1499 USA, and 24"/2.4 GHz/1 GB RAM/320 GB HD/256 MB VRAM/SuperDrive/$1799 USA. A high-end BTO model was also available, equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme processor at 2.8 GHz and a 500 GB hard drive, at the price of $2299 USA.
