History

In September 1986 Apple continued a year of significant changes by converting its mice and keyboards to the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) protocol. Completely redesigned, the updated mouse maintained the massive design of its predecessor, but featured a more wedge-shaped form and a much lower profile. The first official mouse of the Snow White design language (the Apple IIc mouse was technically the first), it featured a uniform platinum gray coloration, including the single button, while only the cables and connectors retained the contrast of the darker "Smoke" gray. It was introduced on the Apple IIGS computer and later became the standard mouse included with all Macintosh desktop computers for the next 6 years.
